As you can tell by the title of this post, I'm a little ticked off right now. A couple of weeks ago our heater/furnace stopped working, the pilot is on but it just won't give us any heat. Anyway, I spoke to the manager of our building about it and she said, "Okay, I'll call it in." A day passed and I still had no word about the heater, so I went to speak to her again. She said something about the maintenance guy was in the building but he was there really late and didn't get a chance to come up. Alright, so at this point I figured that the wheels were in motion and that they were going to get to it. I was wrong. I haven't heard a word since I spoke to her close to 2 weeks ago. The last two nights have been frigid here so I went back to speak with the manager. I asked if anything was going to be done about the heater and she then informed me that it was my responsibility to call the gas company and have them come take care of it. That's not my issue, my issue is that she obviously knew this and could've saved me the headache of waiting around wondering if they were ever going to show up. If she would've just said that 2 weeks ago or even 1 week ago our heater would probably be giving us heat. Instead, she says nothing and does nothing. This makes me think back to the a/c incident last year. Jeff dealt with that in a more controversial manner, but it got taken care of in less than a month. I'm not much of a fighter so my manner of resolving things is much slower and annoying. Now I have to wait until next week for the gas company to come out. Ah the joys of renting in Los Angeles.
To be continued....

I think this could be described as "the joys of renting" and not just LA... We've had problems for over a year now that haven't been fixed... but if it were the heater I would have been down in the office every day. You definitely have a right to be ticked!
Come on Jacks put up a fight and make her cry :) Or move to florida where the heater is only turned on twice a year.
