Weird Clouds & Traffic

While driving in the infamous 405 (a.k.a. world's biggest parking lot) I saw these weird cloud formations. Oh yeah, I wasn't driving while I took these pictures...for those of you worried why I was taking pictures instead of paying attention to the road. It's hard to tell but it looks like stacks of clouds, like pancakes. Just weird I thought.
Also, look at the nasty traffic coming the other way! Look closely and you'll know one of the reasons why we have such bad traffic...no more than 1 person per vehicle. It's pretty much against the law to own an SUV if you're going to have more than 1 person driving it at all times.
Already a BYU fan! Love it!

I've been contemplating making a post about President Hinckley and didn't really know what to say. It's still almost unreal that he passed. I know that he is probably getting to work as he was such a worker here on earth. He truly embodied the building of the Kingdom of God. When I joined the Church I didn't quite understand the teachings of having prophets on the earth but as soon as I heard him speak I knew that it was true. I respected and admired his dedication to the Lord and to the work that we are called to do. He never took his time here on earth lightly, I believe he labored for the Lord up until he could no longer do it. Wow, what a leader and what an example of building the Kingdom.

NEW

So with my infinite amount of time I decided to change my whole blog. I decided this quite a while ago but didn't want to invest my time and creativity to it. There are a lot of changes that I still need to make but decided to go to bed and get my 5 hours of sleep. Sidenote: Jeff has been in Hawaii since Sunday so I have been with the kids for the last 3 days and am tired and going crazy. Most nights that Jeff is away I can't sleep, I miss him...yeah even his snoring. It's just comforting to have him next to me. Anyway, since he's not here, I have been too busy to do anything fun for myself in the day so I foolishly wait until the kids are asleep to do email/blog, etc. Back to the blog formatting. Don't bother with the tabs, I'm not quite sure how to work those things but as soon as I figure it out I will be happy. It took me some time to decide on a background and as soon as I saw this one I was done looking. I'm hoping I can stick with this for a while, it's too much of a pain to change it, especially since I'm not too savy with computer lingo.

...to be continued

So, yesterday I was startled by a phone call at 7am. For those of you that know me...that is EARLY, even with 2 kids. It was the gas company. I made a service appointment and they gave me between 7am and noon to come, so like the cable guy, I expected them to show sometime past noon, not at the very first hour. Anyway, they came and tinkered with it for a few minutes and got our heater to work. I wasn't too alert so I didn't really ask any questions as to why it stopped working or what fixed it, I just said thank you and have a nice day. By noon I decided to turn down the heat, I was literally sweating, I had forgotten to turn it down from 90 degrees or so. When I went to turn it back up, it wouldn't turn on again. I made another service appointment for next week, that was the soonest, and now have to be home from 7am - 8 pm. That's so lame. I guess it's supposed to warm up this coming week so that will be nice. It has been raining for the last couple of days and isn't supposed to stop until Saturday. I like it. The only problem is the cold since we don't have a functioning heater. If you're wondering about the manager, I haven't seen her since I posted about her. I doubt I will see her before rent is due.
I guess this is still ... to be continued...

Dressed to Impress

That's the best I could do. Now that David is a super fast crawler I can hardly get him to sit still for anything. Cute little outfits though.

A little ticked...

As you can tell by the title of this post, I'm a little ticked off right now. A couple of weeks ago our heater/furnace stopped working, the pilot is on but it just won't give us any heat. Anyway, I spoke to the manager of our building about it and she said, "Okay, I'll call it in." A day passed and I still had no word about the heater, so I went to speak to her again. She said something about the maintenance guy was in the building but he was there really late and didn't get a chance to come up. Alright, so at this point I figured that the wheels were in motion and that they were going to get to it. I was wrong. I haven't heard a word since I spoke to her close to 2 weeks ago. The last two nights have been frigid here so I went back to speak with the manager. I asked if anything was going to be done about the heater and she then informed me that it was my responsibility to call the gas company and have them come take care of it. That's not my issue, my issue is that she obviously knew this and could've saved me the headache of waiting around wondering if they were ever going to show up. If she would've just said that 2 weeks ago or even 1 week ago our heater would probably be giving us heat. Instead, she says nothing and does nothing. This makes me think back to the a/c incident last year. Jeff dealt with that in a more controversial manner, but it got taken care of in less than a month. I'm not much of a fighter so my manner of resolving things is much slower and annoying. Now I have to wait until next week for the gas company to come out. Ah the joys of renting in Los Angeles.

New Year

These are pictures that Veronica took with one of her birthday presents, a kid tough digital camera. She posed Minnie for this shot.

She takes lots of David.

I haven't had much going on lately, so nothing really interesting to post. I haven't even really taken very many pictures.

Once kids came around, new years eve has been an uneventful day/night. When the new year approached, David was sleeping in his crib, Veronica was undoubtedly staying up way past her bedtime with her Abuelos, Jeff was playing X-Box and I was miserable on the couch with the chills. We all were very sick, that's what we brought home from Idaho...among lots of Christmas presents.

We had a great time in IF, it's always nice to go away for a while.
